For the second year in a row, the TCU BBA and MAc programs rank among the best in the nation in the Public Accounting Report.
The TCU undergraduate accounting program ranks No. 15 and the TCU Master of Accounting (MAc) ranks No. 16 among all accounting programs of similar size throughout the nation (16 to 21 accounting faculty members), and No. 46 and No. 49 among all colleges and universities in the U.S. offering accounting degrees.
The Public Accounting Report surveys accounting professors at all colleges and universities in the U.S. for the ranking.
The success of the TCU accounting program shows. Every year, TCU MAc graduates boast exceptional pass rates for the Texas CPA exam, consistently placing in the top five schools in Texas. TCU MAc students have a 100 percent placement rate at graduation for the past two years in a row, with placement rates of 97-98 percent in preceding years.
“Our graduates are recognized for their professionalism due to the TCU Professional Program in Accounting (PPA), an innovative approach to provide a seamless transition from undergraduate studies to graduate,” Mary Stanford, chair of the TCU Department of Accounting, said.
The TCU PPA helps undergraduate accounting students develop professional and leadership skills, network with accounting professionals and participate in internships that lead to ongoing success in the TCU MAc program. Critical thinking and communication skills are an integral part of the curriculum.
The TCU MAc program is a 30-hour, full-time program that hones accounting knowledge and refines students’ critical thinking skills. It also provides the additional hours required to take the CPA exam in Texas. Students can declare a concentration in assurance, taxation, or financial reporting and valuation.
