The TCU Neeley Alumni Executive Board has chosen Dr. Steven Mann, associate professor of finance, as the 2016 Neeley Alumni Professor of the Year.
Mann, who holds the Theodore and Beulah Beasley Faculty Fellowship, joined the TCU Neeley School in 1994 after serving as a staff economist for the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
“I've always thought highly of our students, and I'm delighted that they think well of me in return,” Mann said. “I'm always impressed when I meet former students. Without exception, they have turned out quite well.”
He has taught numerous courses in finance at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and has received several teaching awards, including the Neeley School Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2005 and 2015, and Most Charismatic Professor from the TCU Panhellenic Council in 2008.
He has been an active member of the TCU Faculty Senate for several years and served on the University Council, Dean’s Search Committee, Neeley Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, Neeley School Evaluation Committee and as interim chair of the finance department. He is a member of the Addison and Randolph Clark Society at TCU.
“This recognition is a tribute to the significant difference Dr. Mann has made in the lives of so many of our students and alumni,” O. Homer Erekson, the John V. Roach Dean of the TCU Neeley School, said.
