Why pursue my MBA?
I felt I needed to learn how businesses make decisions. What was missing in my skill set was the technical knowledge behind business areas like accounting, finance and marketing.
My journey.
Working with Calloway’s Nursery on a consulting project was probably the best experience I had during business school. The engagement was rewarding in a variety of ways. Our team was able to interact with the company’s senior leadership and store managers. I also believe our team was able to make an impact on their business by looking at a problem with a fresh set of eyes. Plus, their company executives were just fun to work with.
I also worked with Dr. Tyson Browning as a graduate assistant during my two years at TCU. He definitely gave me a new perspective on how to think through a variety of problems from an operational standpoint.
Ultimately, attending the National Society of Hispanic MBAs job conference was an extremely smart move, and I owe Neeley’s Graduate Career Services a debt of gratitude for coordinating the trip. I made my initial contacts with Booz Allen Hamilton and Goldman Sachs at this conference, which eventually led to two job offers.
My top two job offers:
My three favorite things about living in Dallas/Fort Worth.
