 The Neeley Entrepreneurship Center is active in the Metroplex and Texas business community, providing seminars for continuing education and honoring successful small businesses. TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year This popular annual scholarship program sponsored by Compass Bank recognizes high school entrepreneurs for their success in business. "Celebrating 10 years of Success" Partnering with the Fort Worth Business Assistance Center and the Women's Business Center, the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center delivers a full day of entrepreneurial education at the annual Entrepreneur Expo held Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Tarrant Country Convention Center. For more information go to www.entrepreneurexpo.org. This special seminar, held once annually, addresses the unique challenges of working in a family business. It is designed for TCU students and their parents as well as “friends of TCU”. The seminar is led by one of the nation’s top family business experts, Dr. Sam Lane. Small Business of the Year Award  Each year the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center and Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce present the Small Business of the Year Award, which recognizes and honors businesses that have demonstrated best practices of entrepreneurship such as sound business planning, fiscal responsibility and work process innovation in operating their business. The awards are open to for-profit business headquartered in Tarrant County with a minimum of three years of financially stable operations and who are Chamber members. There is also an award for the top Emerging Business for those open less than three years. Companies are categorized by size of employees. The Neeley Entrepreneurship Center hosts the regional competition for this prestigious award. The award recognizes college students who have started and currently run successful businesses.
