Meredith Fraker Thompson Memorial Scholarship in Finance

Meredith Fraker Thompson's zest for life was unmistakable. As an undergraduate at TCU, she volunteered with numerous organizations, was a strong student and garnered a prestigious internship at Luther King Capital Management. After graduation, Meredith went to work for Simmons & Company International, a Houston-based investment banking firm specializing in energy.

To honor Meredith’s legacy after her untimely death, friends and colleagues at Simmons & Company and Luther King Capital Management established the Meredith Fraker Thompson Memorial Scholarship in Finance at TCU. This scholarship demonstrates how a single person can make a tremendous difference in a short period of time.
The scholarship provides:
  •   Two senior finance majors with an award of approximately $6,000
  •   Structured internships at Luther King Capital Management.
  •   Structured internships at Simmons & Company in Houston. 
Criteria for consideration includes:
  •   Senior standing as of the 2010-2011 academic year (current juniors)
  •   Finance majors
  •   High academic merit
  •   Strong work ethic
  •   Previous work experience
  •   Background in accounting
  •   Leadership characteristics 
Deadline for application is December 9, 2009.
