Neeley Entrepreneurship Center | Student Programs  

The TCU CEO is a member of the national Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization which affiliates with more than 140 schools nationwide.  Even though TCU is one of the smaller schools, the TCU CEO is the largest in the country. TCU CEO educates and encourages students to succeed as entrepreneurs. Members develop lasting relationships among themselves as well as with faculty and the business community.  We welcome students from all majors across campus. For more information go to: www.tcuceo.org.

TCU CEO Activities and Programs   

  • Distinguished Speakers Series  
    Prominent entrepreneurs and business leaders from a variety of backgrounds visit campus 
    twice each semester to share insights 
     
  • Dinner with a CEO   
    Students network with accomplished entrepreneurs on three occasions each semester in an
    intimate dinner setting hosted by the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center.
     
  • Careers in Entrepreneurship 
    Students learn about specific careers and receive suggestions from a diverse group of
    successful entrepreneurs.
     
  • CEO National Conference 
    Each fall, CEO chapters from universities throughout the U.S. gather for a weekend of
    networking, competitions and education. TCU CEO generally has the largest group in
    attendance.
     
  • Entrepreneur's Road Trip  
    An annual visit to companies in other cities that include Q & A with the founding entrepreneurs.
     
  • Mentor Program 
    Students from the TCU CEO are matched with some of the top entrepreneurs in the Dallas/Fort

  • Micro-Lending Initiative
    This service project is part of the TCU CEO club experience and involves making loans to
    entrepreneurial ventures in third world countries.  Students evaluate funding requests from the
    entrepreneurs and track their progress.  For information on our companies go to

  • Annual Networking Event
    CEO closes the academic year with an awards banquet and networking event .  All mentors,
    speakers, judges, advisory board members, panelists, and seminar presenters are invited
    back on campus for dinner and networking with all of our CEO members.

Competitions  

  • TCU Elevator Pitch
    How do you squeeze everything that is wonderful about you and your business opportunity into two minutes, and make it count? For this competition, students have two minutes to pitch a business idea to a panel of judges for a chance to win a cash prize and the opportunity to compete at a national competition, the National Elevator Pitch Competition at the CEO National Conference.   • TCU Collegiate Entrepreneur of the Year
    TCU students from across campus compete to determine the winner, who then progresses to the Texas regional competition. Winners from that annual competition (TCU has had three in a row) go on to the Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year competition.

  • TCU Business Plan Competition
    TCU student teams from across campus and in the Business School are nurtured and encouraged to compete to determine who has the best business plan. Winning teams are awarded cash prizes and the opportunity to compete at various national competitions such as Ball State and Wake Forest.


Entrepreneurial Intern Scholars Program  

In this partnership between the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center and Tech Fort Worth, a privately funded nonprofit business incubator, undergraduate students are matched with startup companies housed in the incubator. Students apply and are awarded grants from the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center to work with these firms and receive valuable experience.

The TCU Tech Fort Worth Incubator  

Student-run businesses can launch or grow their business in the TCU Tech Fort Worth Incubator.  The incubator staff provides a wide range of specialized business services including business plan development, on-site business education opportunities and office space and equipment.

Bill Shaddock Investment Fund  



The investment fund provides incubator space in the TCU Tech Fort Worth Incubator to small businesses that are either started by or currently owned by TCU students. The entrepreneurs who are funded are known as Shaddock Entrepreneurial Fellows. 

Study Abroad  

Each year, the Neeley School of Business offers a study abroad program in China and other countries with developing economies. Private business is the fastest growing sector of China’s economy, expanding at an annual rate of 20%, well above the country’s average GDP growth of 9.5% over the last decade.
