We’re always excited to see the new EMBA program rankings come out from The Economist every other year. But as schools jump up and down the list each time, it’s perhaps more telling to look for the consistent trends.

Alumni Profiles: The EMBA for an Entrepreneur

Tonya Veasey, class of 2012, started her own public relations firm, OCG+, in 2006. While she tended to run her business based on gut instincts, she wanted to gain more knowledge to inform those instincts. She visited a variety of schools offering MBA programs, but was attracted to the support system offered at TCU Neeley. That decision had a major impact on her bottom line.

Would You Earn Your MBA – in Another Language?

It’s never easy to uproot your life, learn a new language and immerse yourself in a different culture, but Claudia Zavala, Class of 2015, and her husband, Carlos, knew they could make it.

Honduras natives, the Zavalas were both working for Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co., an apparel company representing some of the top brands in performance workwear across more than 100 countries. In 2000, before starting their family, they were transferred to the United States.

She Almost Quit the Program. She Graduated Valedictorian.

Kim Speairs, Class of 2014, is a single mother of two who oversees client services at Balcom Agency, the largest full-service marketing firm in Fort Worth, so she’s used to juggling a lot of different things.

And she’s good at it. Kim holds an Accreditation in Public Relations, a prestigious National PRSA Bronze Anvil Award, and was named one of the Fort Worth Business Press’ Who’s Who in Tarrant County from 2000-2002.
