On November 2, 2018, TCU Neeley’s Department of Finance and the LKCM Center for Financial Studies cosponsored the first academic finance conference at TCU.

“We hope the success of this conference will lead to it being an annual event we offer for finance professors nationwide,” said Joe Lipscomb, professor of finance and real estate at the TCU Neeley School of Business and director of the LKCM Center for Financial Studies.

The conference showcased TCU Neeley’s strong research culture to other finance professors from around the country.

TCU Neeley finance professors Paul Irvine, Swami Kalpathy and Grant Farnsworth took the lead in organizing the event, which invited PhD students and finance professors to showcase their current research.

The conference began with a kickoff dinner and networking at Billy Bob’s Texas on Thursday.

Five papers, written by researchers from Michigan State University, Duke University, University of Texas at Austin, Virginia Tech University and the University of Arizona, were carefully selected for presentation and discussion on Friday. Other universities represented at the conference were University of Oklahoma, University of Georgia, University of Kentucky, Emory University, University of Texas at Dallas and Texas Christian University.
