The start of this academic year consisted of a new class of Full-time MBA students, including six people who received scholarships through their affiliations with Fort Worth community organizations dedicated to developing leaders, growing businesses and serving the community. The six leaders joining us are ambassadors across schools, government offices, corporate businesses and entrepreneurial initiatives. Leadership Fort Worth
Angela Zuniga-Taylor, a product program and customer experience lead for the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, describes herself as a hardworking and self-motivated manager who embraces collaborating to fulfill the mission. Zuniga-Taylor earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration at Baylor University.
Zuniga-Taylor is a member of Leadership Fort Worth, one of the oldest community leadership-development programs in the nation. Leadership Fort Worth just celebrated their 50th anniversary. As one of the founding sponsors for Leadership Fort Worth, TCU has been there since the beginning in 1973.
Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Ruby Garcia is an associate financial analyst with Bell Fight. He regularly volunteers with the Salvation Army and Mission Arlington/metroplex. Garcia received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Teresa Magaña Leach works for the city of Fort Worth as a community engagement liaison, serving as a link between residents and the city to enhance connectivity by providing opportunities for the public to engage. Leach earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Sam Houston State University.
Garcia and Magaña Leach both join TCU Neeley from the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which was chartered 50 years ago in 1973 when a small group of minority business and community members recognized the need for representation in the local business community. It was only the fourth Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce to be established in Texas.
Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce
Anthony Hill has worked as an assistant principal at Westcreek Elementary School in Fort Worth for the past three years. He has previously worked in private industry as an account manager and logistics specialist. Hill earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of North Texas.
Joel Leach works in corporate sponsorship activation for the Dallas Mavericks, where he leads the development of innovative and effective partnership initiatives. Leach describes himself as a marketing professional who is a flexible team player. He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications and public relations form the University of North Texas, and a master’s degree in sports management marketing.
LaTasha Starr is the founder and chief executive officer at ESTe2M Builders, a non-profit organization that strives to build confidence, competence and creativity in students and teachers through hands-on activities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Math and Education (Ste2M). Starr is also an associate professor at Texas A&M University and an adjunct professor at Dallas College. She earned her bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and industrial technology from Tennessee State University, a master’s degree in human-centered design engineering from the University of Washington, and master’s degree in industrial, manufacturing and systems engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Hill, Leach and Starr are members of the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, which was formed in 1979 with the goal of making Fort Worth a better place to work and raise a family. Their mission is to promote, assist and enhance economic and business development for their members and create wealth in the communities they serve.
