Today, TCU Neeley Executive Education marked a major milestone, celebrating 10 years of growth, partnerships, and impact. Since its launch, the program has served more than 5,500 participants and delivered more than 250 programs, building from the ground up a trusted source for executive education reaching leaders both locally and abroad.
Executive Director Jim Roach reflected on Executive Education’s progress. He said, “We started from scratch – no programs, no customers, no strategy. We had to figure it all out. Building all of that together is a true accomplishment, and it took everyone rowing in the same direction to make it happen.”
The program has grown through the contributions of experienced faculty who bring both academic insight and real-world leadership experience.
“In the business school, we work with students all the time, but executive education is different. These leaders already have experience – they’re out there making decisions and driving change. Executive education gives us the opportunity to help them refine their skills, think differently, and shape the future of their organizations,” said Michael Sherrod, William M. Dickey Entrepreneur in Residence at TCU’s Neeley School of Business.
Sherrod also highlighted the program’s broad reach. “We’re reaching executives all over North Texas – and sometimes as far away as Germany. But the impact goes beyond the individuals in the classroom. When an executive leaves with a new perspective, even a small shift in mindset, it influences not just their company but also their community,” he said. “That’s what excites me—seeing how we can help leaders create more value in their businesses, their families, and their broader communities over time.”
Dan Weber, region chief human resources officer at Marsh McLennan, shared his experience with TCU Neeley Executive Education, highlighting the positive impact it has had on his organization and its leaders.
"Partnering with TCU Neeley Executive Education has been fantastic. It’s provided us with solutions to problems that we didn’t know we had, and they've been a fantastic partner. Over the last year and a half, we’ve had 58 participants go through different programs – everything from early career programs for our high-potential employees to courses for seasoned leaders looking to continue enhancing their leadership. It’s been a great experience and we’re looking forward to many more years," Weber said.
Looking ahead, the program will continue to adapt to emerging business trends, including advancements in artificial intelligence and other technologies. Sherrod emphasized the importance of staying ahead of change. “The business landscape is evolving faster than ever. Companies that don’t adapt will fall behind, and executive education plays a key role in helping leaders prepare for that future,” he said.
Roach credits the program’s success to the collaboration of faculty, staff, and business partners. “Every faculty member, every client, and every executive who has engaged with us over the past decade has contributed to this milestone. We’re grateful for that support and look forward to the next 10 years.”
