With a TCU Energy MBA, you’ll gain in-depth knowledge of the current business issues and practices unique to the energy industry, as well as strategies for managing the risks and opportunities in this dynamic and growing field.

TCU delivers the Energy MBA in a combination of classes over traditional eight-week terms (typically two nights of class per week). Students learn as a cohort – meaning you and your classmates all start and graduate together, in 16 months.

Core Courses Available in Two Formats

Energy MBA students may participate in core MBA classes in one of two formats, either on campus or remotely. Both groups come together in-person for four multi-day events.

Classes meet in-person, typically two nights a week, 6:30 - 9:10 p.m., studying alongside students in our Professional MBA program to learn core business principles that transcend industry.

42 total credit hours

  • 25.5 hours are core courses.
  • 6 hours are business or energy electives.
  • 10.5 hours are energy-specific courses delivered on campus over three immersive weekends that last four days each, as well as an international trip to an energy-rich region.

Admission: Students begin as a cohort with an on-campus residency in early August and graduate in December.

Classes meet live online, typically two nights a week, 6:30 - 9:10 p.m., for core courses in a 100% remote format, engaging in real-time with faculty members and other students who are completing their MBAs online. These classes are taught by faculty trained to engage students in a remote format, and focus on skills relevant for any business leader, regardless of industry.
