Three Decades of Leadership, Research Define Mauricio Rodriguez’s Impact at TCU Neeley

Mauricio “Mo” Rodriguez, professor of finance and real estate in the TCU Neeley School of Business, has been named the inaugural J. Luther King Jr. Endowed Chair in Finance, adding to a TCU career spanning more than three decades of research, teaching and leadership.

Rodriguez joined TCU in 1994 and has held several leadership roles at Neeley, including nearly two decades as chair of the Department of Finance. Since 2020, he has served as director of the Luther King Capital Management (LKCM) Center for Financial Studies, which connects students, faculty and industry through experiential learning, research and engagement with the financial community.

His research spans real estate and financial markets, including corporate finance, real estate investment trusts, emerging capital markets and commercial real estate. His work has appeared in leading academic publications across both fields, including Financial Management, Journal of Banking & Finance, Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Research and The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics.

Rodriguez’s contributions to the academic community extend beyond his research. He has served as president of both the American Real Estate Society and the Real Estate Research Institute and has held numerous editorial and board positions. In 2021, he received the International Real Estate Society Achievement Award recognizing his contributions to real estate research, education and practice.

His work in the classroom has also earned recognition, including Neeley graduate and Executive MBA teaching awards.
