The Raytheon Invitational Business Case Competition at the TCU Neeley School of Business gives students the opportunity to apply strategic thinking, problem-solving and communication skills to complex industry scenarios.

Participants work on a current supply chain and operations challenge presented by Raytheon while gaining exposure to business leaders, industry professionals and potential career opportunities. The competition also aligns with Raytheon’s recruitment efforts for internships and full-time leadership development roles.

Raytheon is a global aerospace and defense company providing advanced systems and services for commercial, military and government customers worldwide.

Competition Experience

Students from leading business schools across the country collaborate in mixed teams to develop solutions for real-world supply chain and operations challenges.

  • Each invited school may send up to four students
  • Open to undergraduate and full-time MBA students
  • Teams are assigned across universities and disciplines
  • Judged by Raytheon executives and talent acquisition leaders

  • $10,000 First Place
  • $7,500 Second Place
  • $3,500 Third Place
  • Exposure to Raytheon internship and leadership development opportunities
  • Must be enrolled at one of Raytheon’s top-tier target universities in the United States.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be eligible for employment with Raytheon.
  • Should be interested in exploring supply chain or operations roles at Raytheon.
  • May be sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate students or first- or second-year full-time MBA or master’s students.
  • Teams of four will be randomly assigned from the pool of participants.
  • A copy of the case will be given to each participant at 8:00 a.m. CST on Friday.
  • Each team will have until 10:00 p.m. CST to work on the case.
  • Friday at 1:00 p.m., a Raytheon representative will be available to answer questions.
  • Teams are allowed to use the internet in preparation of their recommendation and presentation. In the event of any technical problems, the organizer should be notified immediately.
  • Teams are NOT permitted to seek any external help from any individual via any channel of communication. Any team that does seek to contact an external party outside of their team members will be immediately disqualified.
  • Presentations must be in PowerPoint format. No previously completed PowerPoints can be used.
    Each team will have a maximum of 35 minutes with the panel of judges to present recommendations and answer questions during the preliminary and final round; 25 minute presentation and 10 minutes of Q&A.
  • All team members are encouraged to participate in the presentation but are not required to do so. We recommend that each team member is prepared to answer questions.
  • A timekeeper will cut off the presentation and Q&A after 35 minutes.
  • Attire for the competition is business formal.
