Undergraduate Admission Requirements
Admission to the TCU Neeley School of Business is highly competitive. Review requirements and next steps for first-year, transfer and current TCU students.
Before You Begin
Students are admitted to TCU as business majors and complete required coursework during their first year before advancing into a specific business major at the Neeley School of Business.
Admission Pathways
Students admitted to TCU as business-intended majors must complete the following requirements to continue in the Neeley School of Business:
- Complete required coursework (ENGL, ECON and MATH)
- Maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA to remain in business
- Achieve a 3.0 GPA to declare a major
- Complete 24 credit hours
- Pass Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint certifications
- Participate in academic advising
Students transferring to TCU and intending to study business must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA from a four-year institution
- Minimum 3.25 GPA from a community college
Admission decisions are made by the TCU Office of Admission, and students must indicate business as their intended major on their application.
Students admitted as business majors must still complete Neeley progression requirements before advancing to upper-division business coursework.

TCU first-year students who would like to change their major to business must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 3.25 TCU cumulative GPA
- Must be in second semester or later
- Submit an application and essay
- Complete the following courses with a minimum 2.75 GPA:
- ENGL 10803 – Composition I
- ECON 10223 – Microeconomics
- ECON 10233 – Macroeconomics
- MATH 10283 – Applied Calculus
Note: All courses must be taken for a letter grade. Pass/No Credit is not allowed.
Changing your major may delay graduation.

- Firm submission deadline is Friday, July 24, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
Fall 2026 Applicants
- Application is accessible beginning Monday, September 21, 2026.
- Firm submission deadline is Friday, December 4, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
Students in their second year or later who wish to change their major to business must:
- Maintain a minimum 3.25 TCU cumulative GPA
- Submit an application and essay
- Complete required coursework (same as above with 2.75 GPA minimum)
Additional Requirement:
Students previously declared as business majors must complete Excel and PowerPoint certifications prior to application review.
Changing your major may delay graduation.

Technology Requirements
All business students are required to have a PC laptop or notebook. Mac and Chromebook devices may not support required coursework functionality.
Students must complete Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint certifications during their first year to continue as business majors.
